How the Callaway Kids Clubs network is shaping Toronto’s new neighbourhood, community
The new neighbourhood to the east of the new Toronto Community Housing Corporation will include Callaway Gardens, a green space and playground that will also include an art gallery, community meeting space and a children’s club.
“It’s an iconic place and it’s very special, and we are proud of it,” said Dan Maclean, vice-president of the Callaways.
“Our community has been around for a long time and we know what to expect.
The playground is set to open in 2019 and will be accessible to all kids. “
We will also have a small community meeting room for kids.”
The playground is set to open in 2019 and will be accessible to all kids.
It will include an artist gallery, a community meeting, a basketball court, a swimming pool and a fitness centre.
Maclean said the playground will be the first of its kind in the neighbourhood and it will be one of the first outdoor playgrounds in the country.
It is set for a construction start in the fall.
“The neighbourhood is a beautiful and special place.
It has great heritage, and there are a lot of great kids coming through the neighbourhood,” he said.
“People who grew up in Callaway say they would have loved to have a place like this in their neighbourhood.”
He said the Callback Kids Club Network was founded in 2012 by members of the community to provide support for youth with developmental issues, and the first meeting space was established in the spring of 2018.
It currently has over 1,000 members.
The neighbourhood is the site of an extensive renovation project, including a new bridge, a new public playground, a playground on the banks of the Niagara River, and new sidewalks and crosswalks.
The centre will include a children-only community meeting centre, an art and crafts space, a gym, a childrens’ activity centre, a fitness center, a library and a community centre.
It also includes a new community garden, which will be available to the public for the first time.
The city will provide $300,000 in funding for the playground, and $500,000 for the neighbourhood improvement plan.
MacLean said the network will be funded in part by a $1.3-million grant from the city.
MacLeod said he believes the neighbourhood is changing and the neighbourhood needs a lot more community input.
“This is the first neighbourhood of the GTA that is going to be a playground and we’re going to make sure that we’re bringing people here who will want to have their kids playing, and that we get to know them,” he explained.
“I think that’s the best way to bring new people into the neighbourhood.
We need to do this in a way that is sustainable and doesn’t cost money, but we are going to put in a lot, because it’s going to take a long, long time to rebuild this neighbourhood.”
